Apologies for the weird audio sync issues at the very end. I got it reaaaaaaal close......but no cigar (and no, I didn't do it on purpose just to have this awful joke)

I was one of the animators on the video for Close But No Cigar. Here's basically the story, as I heard it, behind John Kricfalusi (pronounced Kritch-fa-LOO-see) making the video push the PG limits into PG-13 territory: Al, knowing John K's reputation for envelope-pushing, had told John to keep it tame. But John ignored that. Evidently, the first draft he submitted was waaayyy more sexualized! Al kept asking him to tone things down more and more, but John was very resistant. The finished video was essentially the compromise Al finally had to settle on to avoid having John K abandon the whole project.
